Mind controlled L.E.D’s

10 Dec

One of the ideas that came from Mondays presentation was to use something a bit more analog to show how hard a user was concentrating. The simplest suggestion was lights of some sort. I thought about using stage lights aaages ago that were controlled by concentration to set the mood of the game.

My current idea is to use LED strip lights around the inside of the booth and have them glow based on how hard the user is concentrating. So the harder you concentrate the brighter the booth glows. I think that would look pretty cool.

It turns out to be pretty simple to control the brightness of an LED, it’s just a little bit of code to turn on an LED and then you just set how bright you want it to be. Shove it an enterFrame loop, set the brightness to be equal the attention values from the headset and viola.
